Aerial Survey and Remote Sensing Branch

Basic Information

Branch Office Overview

The Aerial Survey and Remote Sensing Branch is committed to acquiring nationwide aerial imagery and producing cartographic products. It builds high-precision and frequently updated geospatial datasets to monitor land-use changes. These datasets are widely applied in forestry development, nature conservation, environmental monitoring, land-use planning, agricultural and forestry management, urban planning, economic development, disaster prevention and response, as well as academic research. The Branch also promotes the application of remote-sensing images and provides professional training. Through stereoscopic interpretation of aerial imagery, it supports forest-type identification, forest land classification, and detailed assessments of disaster-affected areas such as landslides, fire scars, and pest outbreaks. These analyses serve as essential references for forest management and natural resource governance.
