Branch Office Overview
The jurisdiction of the Pingtung Branch is located in southern Taiwan, between
120°24’ and 120°54’ east longitude and 21°51’ and 23°22’ north latitude. The
area extends 165 kilometers from north to south and 58 kilometers from east to
west. The eastern boundary follows the ridge of the Central Mountain Range,
adjoining the Yanping, Taitung, Dawu, and Guanshan working circles under the
Taitung Branch. To the north, it borders the Yushan working circle under the
Chiayi Branch. To the west, it adjoins the Dapu and Yujing working circles,
the southwestern plains, and the Taiwan Strait. To the south, it faces the
Bashi Channel. The jurisdiction spans Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Chiayi, Taitung,
and Tainan, and covers five working circles including Qishan, Laonong River,
Pingtung, Chaozhou, and Hengchun, with a total of 389 compartments. It also
administers protected forests in Kaohsiung, Pingtung, and Penghu, as well as
state-owned forest lands transferred from the National Property
Administration. The total managed area is approximately 228,125 hectares.
