Mt. Kantou Trail

Kantou Mountain, standing at 844m above sea level and the second highest mountain in Tainan City, is one of the mountains the surround the Zengwen Reservoir. The trail runs through low-altitude dense broadleaf forests and luxuriant vegetation. There is also a camphor forest spreading over an area measuring more than 4 hectares. Along the way and from the summit, one can see the settlements in Dongshan and the Chiayi-Tainan Plain. On sunny days, even the coastal area in Chiayi and Tainan is visible. After a rain, fascinating seas of clouds and cloud falls often appear.
