Liuyi Mountain, part of the Wu Mountain System, is 784m above sea level. It stands between Jiaxian in Kaohsiung City and Nanhua in Tainan City. During the Japanese Rule Period, it was already a popular mountain hiking route. The trail has been developed along the ridge in a way similar to how trails were opened during the Japanese Rule. It is 4.35km in length. There are four trailheads, namely Side, Gongguan, Baiye and Zixia from north to south. A one-way trip takes about 3 hours. Liuyi Mountain was originally planned to be an area for plantation forests. The trail runs along lush deep forests that change appearance in different seasons.
