The Limei Emergency Trail runs between the Lijia Settlement and the Shanmei Settlement in Alishan Township. It was originally an ancient trail taken by the Tsou people to migrate and travel. After Limei Trail was opened during the Japanese Rule, it became deserted until Limei Trail was seriously damaged during the August 8 Typhoon disaster and the villagers realized the ancient trail could be used in an emergency and requested the Forest Bureau to repair it. The engineering took more than a year and it was inaugurated in 2013.
