Beichatian Mountain is a famous mountain of medium altitude in the northern section of the Snow Mountain Range. Located in Yisheng Village of Fuxing District in Taoyuan City, it is the source of the Yunei Creek, a tributary of Dahan River. The mountain is high and steep. As it is in the cloud forest belt, whenever clouds and mists come in, the mountain looks like it is inserted upside down into the sky. That is why it is called “Chatianshan,” literally meaning the mountain inserted in the sky.
