Taipei City Waterbird Refuge

Location Starting from the low-water revetment between Zhonghsin and Yongfu Bridges, till the river zones that reach the city and county boundaries, as well as the river high bank 600 meters upstream of Guangfu Bridge.

The refuge is located between Yungfu Bridge and Chungshing Bridge. Situated near the outlet and deposited with silt from the slow current of tide, the refuge is a vast sandbank wetland and offers a ideal habitat for waterfowl. As the only refuge located in the metropolitan area, it is found with migratory birds of Hirrundinidae family and Ardeidae family , and over thousands green-winged teals. Taipei City Government has designed duck-watching path and information booths in Hwachiang Nature Park, and held large bird watching events inviting narrators from Wild Bird Society of Taipei during migration season.
