The conservation area is extending from 200m (656 feet) to 3,535m (11,598 ft) with inherited weather and ecological complexity. It rains ~3,000 mm almost in ~200 days of a year: most of them from typhoons and some from fog or drizzle during winter monsoon. Taiwan Hinoki Falsecypress is the dominant species with associates: Taxus sumatrana , Taiwania cryptomerioides , Cunninghamia lanceolata , and Cephalotaxus wilsoniana of which are the most important native species due to islandic evolution of vicariance. Good conservation work makes many wild animal's lives in this area have a little more vitality. Rare needles woods is a paradise for many rare wildlives.
