1/23/2026 12:00:00 AM
To expand the visibility of Taiwan’s forest products and introduce the unique charm of Taiwan’s native plants to international visitors, the Taichung Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency (FANCA Taichung) has partnered with the Taiwanese perfume brand P. SEVEN to launch “Cinné,” a perfume inspired by Taiwan’s endemic indigenous cinnamon. The perfume is now available at the duty-free shops of Taoyuan International Airport, offering travelers a distinctive Taiwan forest-inspired fragrance for purchase as souvenir during arrivals, departures, or layovers in Taiwan.
FANCA Taichung noted that the indigenous cinnamon (Cinnamomum osmophloeum) is a native tree species of Taiwan. Not only does the plant hold forest ecological value, it has also has been widely used in the food, essential oil, and fragrance industries due to its unique aromatic compounds. FANCA Taichung has long been committed to the research, seedling cultivation, and industrial promotion of the indigenous cinnamon. Leveraging the plant’s characteristics, such as its suitability for local planting, leaves rich in bioactive compounds, and the fact that it can be used without tree-felling or bark-peeling, FANCA Taichung will offer guidance to forest owners to gradually replace leased orchard fruit trees with indigenous cinnamon. FANCA Taichung will provide management support for forest owners, helping them improve the yield and quality of the cinnamon, and facilitating business matching for downstream processing to boost their income.

FANCA Taichung collaborated with P. SEVEN, a local Taiwanese perfume brand, to launch this indigenous cinnamon fragrance. P. SEVEN has long used scent to interpret the land and culture of Taiwan and won the “Independent Design Award” at the 2022 Art and Olfaction (A+OA) Awards. The product name “Cinné” is derived from the abbreviation of the scientific name of Cinnamomum osmophloeum, inspired by the indigenous cinnamon cultivated by FANCA Taichung. Its warm, captivating aroma features woody and spicy notes. Through P. SEVEN’s professional perfumery techniques, the fragrance retains the indigenous cinnamon’s innate warmth and complexity while blending soft floral and citrusy freshness. The result is a natural yet modern scent suitable for both men and women, perfect for daily wear. Now available at the duty-free shops of Taoyuan International Airport, Cinné leverages the high foot traffic and international exposure offered by the airport’s duty-free channels. Tourists visiting Taiwan and outbound travelers can now discover Taiwan’s forests and their sustainable value through a whiff of fragrance before departure, further enhancing the international recognition of Taiwan’s forest brand.
