Nature Conservation Planning Division

The Forest Planning Division is responsible for the planning of forestry policy drafting; forest survey, conservation, utilization, and development; forest management plans; as well as forest information processing; and office automation.

Conservation Planning Section

Division affairs

  1. Planning, integration and coordination of terrestrial biodiversity conservation.
  2. Planning, integration and coordination of the Taiwan Ecological Network (TEN).
  3. Planning, compilation and coordination of conservation-associated international conventions and cooperation.
  4. Coordination and consolidation of related projects of Strategic Plan for National Spatial Development.
  5. Integration of information and enquiry services about environmental sensitive areas under its jurisdiction.

Forest Planning Section

Division affairs

  1. Drafting, coordination and promotion of forestry policies.
  2. Planning, review and coordination of Medium- and Long-Term Individual Projects, and formulation of the annual Public Construction Plans preliminary planning process.
  3. Proposal, integration and review of medium-term outline science and technology plans.
  4. Planning , investigation, analysis and documentation of historical outlines of forestry.
  5. Coordination and consolidation of comprehensive tasks related to international and cross-strait exchange and cooperation programs.
  6. Consolidation of environmental impact assessments related to forestry and nature conservation operations.
  7. Planning, coordination, and supervision of forest and nature conservation policies related to Indigenous Peoples.

Natural Resources Inventory Section

Division affairs

  1. Planning, promotion and supervision of forest resources inventory.
  2. Investigation of forest and natural carbon sinks and compilation of a national forestry greenhouse gas inventory.
  3. Formulation of forest carbon management strategies and adaptation programs in response to climate change.
  4. Approval of national forest management plans and promotion and supervision of sustainable forest management.
  5. Supervision of operations such as aerial photogrammetry and remote sensing detection.

Information Management Section

Division affairs

  1. Planning, construction and maintenance of information infrastructure environment.
  2. Planning, promotion and supervision of information security management system.
  3. Planning, construction and promotion of forestry-related geographic information system.
  4. Promotion of Internet applications and intranet applications.
  5. Software asset management.

Legal Affairs Section

Division affairs

  1. Legal procedure administration and review of forestry and nature conservation related laws and regulations.
  2. Providing legal opinions on forestry and nature conservation related legal issues.
  3. Compilation, publication and publicizing of forestry and nature conservation related laws and regulations.
  4. Consultation and assistance with appeals, administrative litigation and state compensation claims.
  5. Other related legal matters.
